Biography

Dinosaur O'Dell

Whether he's fixing spaceships, counting monsters or swimming in peanut butter, Dino is a master at educating kids. And whether the topic is astronomy, geography, or earth science, these shows make learning fun!

Dino is a former elementary and preschool music teacher who brings learning to life through music, stories, and animations. His interactive approach keeps the audience engaged while making complex concepts fun and easy to understand.

Dino was the recipient of the 2014 Lighton Prize for Teaching Artist Excellence. He collaborates with arts organizations around the country including Arts 4 Learning maryland, Springboard to Learning St. Louis, and Kansas City Young Audiences, And Dino has opened for children's music artists such as 123 Andres, The Okee Dokee Brothers and Ralph's World. 

 

Kadesh Flow

Kadesh Flow is a rapper with an MBA, a trombone Super Saiyan and a Billboard Chart recording/performing artist. He has played trombone on tracks with hip-hop stars like Jidenna, underground stalwarts like Stand Music's Ubiquitous and JL and has opened as direct support for superstars like Janelle Monae and Hip-Hop legends such as Rakim and Tech N9ne. 

As a children's artist, Kadesh Flow collaborates with Dinosaur O'Dell and Mega Ran.

The History of Life on Our Planet

Travel back 550 million years to explore the history of life on Earth! Through music, storytelling, and audience participation, Dinosaur O’Dell guides audiences from ancient ocean creatures to dinosaurs and mammals—discovering evolution, extinction, and the asteroid that changed our planet forever.

 

 

Out of This World: Music and Stories from Space


Blast off on an interactive journey through our solar system! Students will explore the planets, learn the differences between meteors, meteoroids, and meteorites, meet a space alien and discover how a solar eclipse works.

 

 

Life on Earth: The History of Life on our planet


Journey back in time to 550 million years ago, when life began on planet Earth. We study the Paleozoic, the Mesozoic and the Cenozoic eras - marine life to dinosaurs to mammals.  And we learn about evolution and extinction - including the day a giant asteroid hit planet earth. 

 

 

Around the World: The Geography of Planet Earth


Whether unearthing the mysterious treasures of King Tut’s tomb, gasping in the thin atmosphere atop Mount Everest, or learning to swim with piranhas in the Amazon River of South America, this journey transports students to all seven continents and highlights interesting cultural and geographical details about each one. We also learn about map reading, the five oceans, and landforms - including local landforms. 


 



Book Detective: Zar & the Broken Spaceship


Originally developed as an author event, Book Detective teaches young readers the 5 Ws (Who, What, When, Where, and Why) in the context of musical stories. After each story students are asked about character, setting, time and plot - and they identify the problem and the solution. The show culminates with a reading of Dino’s Children's book “Zar and the Broken Spaceship.”

 

 

Universal Groove: Music and Stories from Space

with Kadesh Flow and Dinosaur O'Dell


Blast off on an interactive journey through our solar system! Dinosaur and Kadesh sing and rap about constellations, solar eclipses and space aliens in this interactive and musical science show. 

 

 

World Connections: An Adventure on Planet Earth

with Kadesh Flow and Dinosaur O'Dell


Whether singing about pepperoni pizza, unearthing the treasure of King Tut's tomb, or jumping with the Australian kangaroos, Dino and 'Desh take us on an interactive adventure to all seven continents.
